When I get off line, my connection stays connected and my fax starts messing up. The ring changes and continues to ring even after the phone is answered. Can a hacker use the fax to access my computer?
Yes. If there is any kind of connection between your computer and the rest
of the world, it can be hacked. All it takes is time, money and the
inclination to do so. You can manually disconnect the internet connection
by clicking on the icon in the task bar and shutting down the connection.
