Is there any way of having the windows gui and minlogon? Every time i try to
select the xp explorer user interface (the gui) and select "minlogon" as
opposed to winlogon, it tells me i need to disable minlogon in favour of
winlogon. I cannot see any way out of this. Any ideas?

Hi,

Why do you need this option?
Is there some reason why you can't you use autologon option with winlogon?

Well my problem with winlogon is that it's taking a HUGE amount of time to
logon. It doubles my total boot time. I used bootviz to check it out. I'm
assuming it's because winlogon requires all these different drivers and such
and so i wanted to use minlogon which has much fewer requirements.

Hi Nick,

Are you sure that you do not have DHCP server related problem?

If you have network adapter and support in your XPe image, then by default it try to obtain IP address from DHCP server which might
not be present on network.

You can:
1. Either remove all network support.
2. Or set IP address to static one that do not wait for non present DHCP.
3. Also you can provide DHCP server on network if you want.

WinLogon is not slow (everything else may be)

Best regards,
Slobodan

Nick,
Winlogon includes a lot of services that you don't need, Zero wireless is
one of them. Turn off all services except the ones that you need, or make
sure that they aren't included in the build.
