XP EXCEL WORKSHEET WILL NOT SORT. HOW TO FIX

i am using a large worksheet which was transferred from access and am unable
to sort large portions of the worksheet. small parts seem to sort ok.

driving me nuts!!!
 
I would first check to see that the data is contiguious, no empty rows or
columns within the area you wish to sort .....

Excel will not skip over the blanks by itself.
