I have an XP machine connecting to an NT4 domain. Every
morning when the user logs on, it tells her that her
domain password will expire today. I have tried to:
1. Change her password from the PC.
2. Expire her password from the domain.
3. Change her password from the user manager for domains.
4. Sync her local BDC to the PDC.

I think there is a flag someplace in the locally cached
password that indicates it to be expired that is not being
re-set.

Anyone have any other ideas I might try?

check the box password never expires on the account on the
domain server. under user manager there.

Hi,

you can check local flag by going to Start -> Run -> gpedit.msc -> expand
Computer Configuration -> Security Settings -> Account Policy ...

Though I am not sure it this is the setting that you are having problem
with... You can also try with RSoP and see the settings that computer has.
Open MMC (Start -> Run -> mmc) and add Resultant Set of Policy snap-in...

.
At boot up press f2 and you will be brought to a screen
where you can change the amount of time for password
expiration. Set it to 0. Hope this helps, I have an NEC
laptop with XP PRO. Curtis
