Whenever I turn my computer on, it comes up to the screen
that lets you choose to start in safe mode, start with
the last working configuration, etc. No matter which one
I push it goes through some things and comes back to this
same screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Right click My Computer.
Select properties
Select hardware
Select device manager
View device by type
Are any of items Crossed out or have some sort of symbol like lightening?
If they are it's likely you have some harware on your pc thats not yet got a driver in the XP installation CD/DVD
You may need to look for installation CD's/diskettes etc. If you have Internet access, you might be able to get the file that way.
Depending on how significant the item in error is you might be able to temporarily disablke device (rather than uninstal or update driver option - remember to expand devices to see components within). and get pc to boot in normal mode and this should give you better video capabilites for internet access..
Hope this helps...

Try engaging your brain before typing! If he cannot boot to Windows how on
earth can he check the device manager, braniac?!

I am having the same problem. I will working on it tonight and tomorrow and will post results I come up with. This has happened to me several times and I am getting very frustrated. XP worked for me since I first installed it two years ago, then I lost my HD at the end of October. Once I installed the new HD I have had this problem everyother week, and up to this point have been forced to reformat my C: drive and reinstall. I am trying not to have to do that again. My guess is the problem for me is related to the latest versions of ATI Radon All In Wonder drivers.

Perhaps some other people will jump in on this and offer some suggests. I have done F8 stuff, I have done the Boot from CD (both install and R) nothing short of reinstall has worked for me. I don't trust my system at all any longer.
