Hi

I have Win XP home on my laptop. I tried to play a DVD on it and it
hung. None of the buttons worked so I pressed the power button to stop
the system and then restarted it. Now, I am getting the message:
"Windows NT has not found enough extended memory. 7mb of extended
memory is required to run Windows NT. You may need to upgrade your
computer or run a configuration program provided by the manufacturer."
Then it just stops!

It does not give me a chance to go into safe mode. Can someone help
me? How can I get the system to work without having to reformat the
hdd?

Thanks

When was the last time you upgraded your BIOS on the laptop?
Try updating to the latest version of the BIOS and see if that
helps.

Silly thing, but have you taken the DVD out of the drive? - had a similar
problem before and this sorted it for me!
Regards
Mark.
