XP does not after motherboard replacement

After replacing motherboard Windows XP will not start. Is
there remedy other than reinstalling the operating system
thus loosing all the data on the hard drive.

I had this exact problem after my motherboard died last
week.

Reboot from the WindowsXP CD, and select the option to
install Windows. After the product key prompt, you'll get
the option to repair the current installation. Your disk
will not be wiped and you shouldn't lose any of your
data. Good luck!
