XP display troubles

Hello folks, My pc is displaying dots and dashes on the desktop and even the
startup screen, I've tried updating everything possible and it doesn't seem
to be doing any good, graphics card drivers, bios updates etc etc, it still
displays morse code all over the place, I've taken a screenshot and it's in
my webshots account here:

The only thing I can think is that it's hardware, maybe graphics card, any
thoughts?

System spec:

AMD athlon 2200+
512mb RAM
Geforce 4 Ti graphics
 
Hi,

I can see that the affect is dark, but can it be seen on the screen
before windows starts?
And does it show up in Safe Mode? Can you try another monitor?
 
Hello Bert, it can be seen on all xp screens, initial XP screen, user accounts
screen and main desktop, the strange thing is it will get really bad and
then suddenly clear for a while and the display seems fine but then gradually
get worse etc, it's a strange one.

Hi Tom,

I would take the monitor to another system and see if the problem
persists.
