I just had a thing happen with a laptop where it was acting funny so I
wanted to shut it down and reboot, but it wouldn't. So I held down the
power button for 5 seconds and it turned itself off. I then restarted it
and it did the Chkdsk utility and came back up. All my font now is
italicized and I have looked at my display settings and the Accessibility
settings to see if something got changed there, but nothing is different.
Every window, icon, email, etc. is italicized. Any idea?

Thanks
-Scott

Hello Scott,

Thank you for using newsgroup!

First of all, I'd like to thank Tallahassee for his kindly input. Actually,
it is a easy way to restore your system to the earlier correct status.

At this moment, I'd like to provide you with the following suggestions to
see if they can help:

Suggestion 1:
============
Please check all Display settings and make sure all font settings have been
revert back to the initial status.

Suggestion 2:
============
If you have installed any third party Windows XP style programs, please
temporarily remove them and test the issue again.

Suggestion 3:
============
To isolate the influence of additional applications, please boot the system
into a Clean Boot environment to see whether this problem continues:

1. Unplug all the unnecessary devices, with only the keyboard and the mouse
left.
2. Click Start, click Run, type "msconfig" (without the quotation marks) in
the Open box, and then click OK.
3. In the Startup tab, click the "Disable All" button.
4. In the Services tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" checkbox,
and then click the "Disable All" button.
5. Click OK and restart your computer.

Suggestion 4:
============
If the issue persists, please make sure that the latest version display
card driver has been applied. If not, please download and install the
latest driver to test the issue.

I hope the suggestions help.

Thanks & Regards,

Ken Zhao
