XP crashed during Service pack install

Hi folks,

I was installing service pack 1 for XP PC and it crashed
during the install, after it backed up the files but
before it finished installing the new dll's. Now when my
pc boots up, either in safe mode or not, it crashes and
reboots again in an endless cycle. It crashes after the
Windows xp professional splash screen and then reboots.
Any idea on how to remedy this short of reinstalling XP?

The same thing happened to me.
The only thing that cured my delima was to repair Win XP
on the CD.
Then when the repair was completed, the system rebooted
again.
