XP Crash and lost admin access

I had a power outage and my tower shutdown, on restart it wouldn't :-(
I used the XP disk and went to the repair console, I now have a duplicate
version of XP on my HD but can't access my original admin files, as obviously
I haven't logged in. If I go in to the repair console I can view my files and
can copy them but the repair console doesn't allow directory or wilcard
copies. Tried fixmbr and bootcfg/rebuild but to no avail.

Any help on how to batch copy, or get my original xp installation back
(think it's already gone though). Reformat is not really an option atm, but
copying 100,000 files one by one is not either. Batch copy would be a great
option just to get the files from "Documents and Settings" the software is
reinstallable.

To recover the old files in "Documents and Settings" you need
to take ownership of the files. Take a look here for the
procedure:
