Hello,
I have an XP Pro client in an SBS 2003 Domain, my issue is anytime a user
starts a particulare w/s (this is the only one it happens to) serveral of
the services
are stopped, I go into the EV and there are services like the Windows
Firewall not started, Themes, System Restore, etc..

Thanks for the help, Craig

Hi Craig,

Thanks for posting.

However, please let me know what w/s exactly is? My understanding is some
services suddenly stopped themself? I think this could be Virus or malware
issue. To eliminate the possible cause of virus or spyware, I'd like to
suggest you try the following on-line free virus scanner on your PC first.

Please download and use the following tools to clean any spyware from your
system.

Download and install Microsoft Windows Anti-Spyware (Beta)

Use spy-killer to scan your computer completely.

Thanks Vincent,
w/s is short for workstation, sorry. I have Windows defender already
installed, I'm also using
Trend Micro and all is up to date. Once the computer is rebooted a second
time everything
works, this only happens on boot up though I'm not sure if that matters.
I'll go ahead and run the other
spywares just for good measures.

Thanks for your response, Craig

Hi Craig,

OK, I got it.

One other thing you can check:

Since you have gone into Event Viewer, is there any error log? Paste them
here and I'll try to search.

Thanks.
