Replace the hard disk.

Hi, it may be that your HD is Sata, perhaps you should refer to the manual
that came with the PC. On the other hand, why would you format your HD when
the PC is only three months old, you may have invalidated your warranty.....

If you can't see the hard drive in the BIOS, open the computer and make sure
everything is plugged in properly. Is this the original drive that came with
your computer? If your computer is only 3 mos old it is likely still under
warranty, so you might want to contact the mfr. for help.

I completely agree with LanWrench - a 3 mo old computer
can have hardware failures. That's why there is a
warranty.

Since the BIOS can't see the hard drive, there is a
hardware problem. The way you describe it, you've not
even opened the case (which is very good if there is a
warranty). That means something - probably the drive -
failed.

I'm thinking it may be a custom built PC, so it can be a learning process. Is
it just a standard HD, or set up in RAID? Or a SATA or something less common
maybe? If its set up for RAID, make sure you load the "drivers" onto a
diskette and install them during the OS install. And have the BIOS settings
changed, by flashing them maybe? That could remove any SATA or RAID settings
you may have had. But if you read my earlier post...maybe you shouldn't
listen to me at all. Hehe.
