XP Changes taskbar

I have a strange thing happening on my desktop, and don't know why. When I
boot up my system for the first time some days, a Search Assistant appears
on the taskbar, and all my QuickLaunch icons have been moved around.
Sometimes my desktop icons are also moved around. I have no idea why this
happens. If I do a System Restore to the previous day, everything gets
fixed, but in a day or two, the Search Assistant pops back up, and
everything gets moved around again.
Questions: What is this Search Assistant, and can I permanently remove it?
Can I prevent this change from happening somehow?
Many thanks in advance.

Hi

Try these programs to check for any spyware that may be on your system:

Ad-Aware - www.lavasoftusa.com
Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org/
CWShredder - http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

Try SpyWareBlaster to stop intrusions:

I scanned with Ad Aware, and removed several spywares. I'll just wait and
see what happens now.
Thanks!

Nope, Ad Aware did not remove whatever it is that is changing my desktop. I
shut down, and rebooted, and the Search Assistant was on the Taskbar, and
the QuickLaunch Icons were all scrambled again.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks.

Also, now I'm getting an error upon bootup stating "Unable to load
Bridge.dll." Anyone know what that's about? If I click Okay, the system
boots up fine.
TIA!

Hi

bridge.dll is part of some spyware - have a look here:
