XP cannot see HD

Trying to install a new 80 gig HD on a 500 cpu with 750ram, a new
promise card and getting blue screen when I try loading winXP on the
drive. I get it eitheir a minute or two before the end of loading or
after it reboots.

I have try adding the promise card and driver after loading XP on a
smaller 13 gig drive with some luck. The hard drive is detecked at start
up, but does not showning up in explorer window even thou the other two
13 gigs drives do show up.

I have seen the three partition on the new drive only twice and I cannot
transfer files to it. All partion are fat32 now and I have try NFT with
no luck.

Any reason why XP does not see the HD? It is a Maxtor.

All drivers are current.

From your description of your system, it sounds like you have an older
motherboard. Check with the motherboard mftr. to see 1) if there are
any issues with the Promise controller card; 2) if you need to update
your BIOS.
