XP BUG - result of latest "Critical" Windows Update download

After downloading the latest critical xp update from the
windows update site -- my Dell Latitude D600 won't
automatically resume functioning after it hybernates or
is standing by.

It just shows my screen image with no icons or buttons, I
have to it CTRL ATL DEL to get my icons to reappear.

PLEASE FIX THIS ANNOYING BUG ASAP

Paul,

I have a D600 - with all available updates and can hibernate and resume
without issues.
If you remove the particular update (please provide the number) does your
functionality return ?
