greetings. XP will not boot up on my PC. I get this error message:

"The registry cannot load the hive (file): or its log or alterntaive. It is
corrupt, absent or not wriable.

"Beginning dump of physical memory. Physical memory dump complete."

I've tried the few windows restart options available to me--but the OS keeps
shutting down and I get the same error message above. Since xp won't boot up,
I can't go try to 'restore' via the Start button, and as mentioned, using the
Windows options "safe" mode or "safe mode with command prompt" doesn't seem
to work--as there is nowhere to type in restore command. I've tried
"dubugging" also--no help. Thoughts on how to fix? Much obliged!

You mean you can boot into safe mode? If so run system restore from
Start | All Programs Accessories | System Tools. Otherwise see this

Consider using ERUNT to make a copy of the registry.
