xp bootdisk

My win xp crashed, every time I turn it on it
says,boot.ini file missing, and then it says windows
root>\system32\hal.dll is corrupt. I did not make a
bootdisk and now can not get into my computer.
I have tried to make one from the xp CD, but no luck.
Can somebody tell me where I can download the files I need
on a 3 1/2 floppy to start my xp.

Are you not able to boot from the CD?

It is likely easier to run a Repair Install
http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/repair_xp.htm to fix this problem than muck
around with the Recovery Console
