My computer fails to boot. I get the message below when I start my PC. I can boot it if I "F8" and select boot normally. Any ideas

STOP: 0x0000007e (0x0000005, 0xf9b5099d, 0xf9ee7c84, 0xf9ee7984

Thanks,
James

Sounds like its on a big blue screen?? You need to try and start it in safe
mode. If it boots ok in safe mode, then its probably one of your hardware
drivers playing up. Disable your hardware drivers in safe mode, then try and
reboot. if it boots ok, go back to safe mode and re-enable one of them. Try
and boot normally again. Continue this process until you find the offending
one. Yes I know its time consuming. Have you installed any new hardware or
software just before this problem occurred? If so this is most likely the
culprit. for instance I had the same problem after I installed a new 6
channel sound card. I needed to uninstall it, physically remove it then
start the install from scratch. Solved it. Hope this helps. Cheers T.
