Today I turned my computer on and when it reached the screen where the little
green dots travel left to right it shut down and started all over again,
never to get any further.
So, I tried a virus check with my Norton disc and found not viruses.
Next I tried to get into Safe Mode but could not.
So I tried a new XP install.
Everything was fine up to the point where system files are being installed
and at 2/3 complete it shuts down and all starts over again.
Now everytime I boot up it tries to do the install and just goes in to a loop.
Any help is appreciated.
Mike.

You should not perform a "new installation".
Instead, perform a "repair install".
