I am receiving intermittent stop messages on my pc. The pc shuts down & I
have to manually restart. The messages are varied, I can list them if
required. The system indicates that stopping bios caching or shadowing may
assist, but I am unsure how to do this ?
The system indicates that new software or hardware drivers may be
responsible for the STOP, but I have not installed any for months.

Anyone any suggestions on how to overcome the issue?

Any help appreciated.

Hi Mal,
But do you have ATI Video driver on your System, when I included the link it
doesn't mean you should to download if you don't have it.
If you have ATI card then try to Download the Driver specific to your Card
Serial number and uninstall the Video from Device Manager and then Reboot.
Windows will detect the Video card and Ask do you want windows install the

Yes, I checked to see which video driver I have & it's ATI Radeon 9550
used the link to download the correct driver from the website.

I didn't disable or uninstall the original, do you recommend that I do this
& try again?

After loading the new driver, eventually got a clean start up, but got 2
stops later last night, so I'm still unsure that the process has worked.

I can restore back to before I started the update process & try again, if
you think that is a better option.

If you have ATI card then try to Download the Driver specific to your Card
Serial number and uninstall the Video from Device Manager and then Reboot.
Windows will detect the Video card and Ask do you want windows install the
driver for you or you have a Disk, say Yes I have the Disk which have the
Driver and insert the Disk In and click "I Have a Disk" and follow steps.
