hi,

since windows 7 is here, most are saying XP is stepping back,
so I am only concerned about if I don't want to upgrade to Win7
will Microsoft go on releasing latest updates/security fix for XP?

Anyone knows?

Thanks

7 isn't here yet. XP with SP3 will be supported until April, 2014. If you
only have SP2, support will end in April, 2010.

Support for WinXP SP2 ends and Extended Support for WinXP SP3 begins next
year. Critical security updates for WinXP SP3 (only) will continue to be
available and released until late 2014.

PS: Win7 is quite "here" yet.

Yes. I don't recall for how much longer but it's in years. XP is in
pretty good shape so if/when 7 makes the big time (if it does; it's just
Vista with changes) Vista & XP will start to dry up, especially XP.

Windows 7 is here?! (I think not.)

Direct answer: April 2014 *if* you have installed Service Pack 3 at this
point. You'll probably stop getting some updates sooner than that if you
have not installed SP3.
