Hello,

1.My Laptop HDD crushed with no warnings and I am not able to recover
anything from it. Any idea of what I could try?
2. Bought a new HDD for Laptop IBM T43, I installed XP an SP2 , IE 7, etc,
but by mistake I installed
MS Virtual Machine and then My network places icons (for LAN and WI-FI0
dissapper , IE 7 froze etc. I uninstall MS Virtual Machine, I uninstall IE7
and then reinstall again, I apply again SP2,did scan disk , cannot do Defrag
for unknown reason, also cannot go in control pannel My Network Places. etc.
If I run Network diagnostics I get WMI error and FAILED for IE Explorer
Proxy, Computer system, Operating system, Version, Modems, Network Adapters,
Network Clients.
3. If I bring my Laptop at work and log in into Active Directory , my XP
froze at begin and all I can see is blue screen and doesn't load XP (no
icons or other error messages).

Can some one help me out here or I should wipe out the HDD and start over
from Scratch.

Many thanks in advance,

Maddox

Hello Mike,

It's better to format your HDD and install all new, just think about to
make a system image after you install the OS.

The OS Behaviour is very strange! I think it can be like some
Bibliotheks map changed by installing some Programs, try with
start->run-> regsvr32 msxml.dll and take a look to services.

export the event logs and send it to me mybe i can help you more
