Thanks

I had to add the LLTD (link Layer) protocol to all my XP machines for them to
talk to vista. its a protocol vista uses that XP doesnt have. Its here on
microsoft. cured my printer share problems dont know about file share but
that should work to

Hey Denny,
How can I do this. I have a network where my "main machine" is running XP.
Ive tired adding to pc's with Vista Home Premium, the router ackknowledges
they are there, the Vista machines can "see" the XP machines, but the XP
machines can only see each other... sounds like you have the solution.

Can you post help?

Thanks,

John

Well I dont know if I have the solution, But I sure have spent a;lot of time
trying to get XP and Vista to use print sharing. I dont use or share files
on my home network so I really cant help in that aspect. However I can tell
you that pure networks has a great utility that I use and it helps me with my
network problems, it called nework magic. I do know that you have to download
that link layer protocol to get XP to use print services off a vista machine
atleast thats what I found. I installed the link layer protocol on my XP
machines and then I could connect to the printers on my vista print server.
My last problem was tring to get vista to actually take to another vista
machine (print server) finally got that fixed. I hope this helps a bit
