XP and two C hard drives

I used to run win 98SE on one 40G harddrive with a 80G harddrive as
document/email container and backup. Just bought a new 40G (identical to
other) with swappable hard drive bay and XP pro. Since I use my computer for
work constantly I was able to back track to win 98SE if setting up the XP
system properly was time consuming.

Now XP-SP1 is running I love it. I made a ghost image of the harddrive when
I first installed it without the bare applications I need. I would like to
ghost this image to my second hard drive so I can start again and start
again with installing some applications now I have learned more about XP.

Question is: intermittent swapping between these 2 identical drives both
with an imaged
C:\ drive of the first XP-SP1 install on my computer, will this affect my
activation?

many thanks

JMJJ,

If you wish to have 2 installs of Windows XP then you need to purchase
another license/copy for the second installation on the other hard drive.

This is covered by the EULA (End User License Agreement) that you can view
by clicking on the link on the page produced by Start ... Run ... Winver

display and run one copy of the Software on a single computer,
such as a workstation, terminal or other device ("Workstation
Computer").

As long as the hard drives are all the hardware that changes, it should work
fine.

Sounds like he is asking about restoring a clone of the original
installation and then cloning back as a backup archive. One instance would
be installed in the computer at a time. I may be reading it wrong.
