I have a computer that have both OS on it and have not been able to
remove pro 2000. If anyone can give me the instructions on removal of the
second operating system without effecting Xp in anyway please let me know.
Thru the Newsgroup or you can send email to
(e-mail address removed)
Thank you for any help

I am also confused and dazed.

What operating systems do you have:
1. Windows XP Professional
2. Windows XP Home
3. Windows 2000

How was this set up, if it is a dual-boot configuration? Do you have a 3rd
party dual boot loader or is it as a consequence of installing XP Pro after
an existing Operating System [XP Home / Windows 200] was on the PC?

Given that one properly understands your configuration, you will then get
proper advice.

Well told everyone I was dazed and confused.
The computer had pro 2000 on it . Tried to or did install xp pro on the
computer but it would not do just an upgrade, so I opted for a full install
of xp pro. It went on fine but to my suprise I found I also had pro 2000
still on the machine also. Now when I boot up it has a screen that asks me
which operating system I wish to use 2000 or xp.
Would like to know if 2000 can somehow be removed safely and not affect xp
pro.
Is that a better explination.

Well, I did say I was dazed and confused.

1. the computer had pro 2000 on it
2. attempted to upgrade to xp pro
3. would not accept the upgrade but would take xp pro install complete
4. when rebooted found that both operating system were on the computer pro
2000 and xp pro
5. Now we computer boots screen comes asking which system I want to use with
a count down
6. would like to know if pro 2000 can be remove safely from the computer and
not affect xp pro
Hope this is a little better understood.
until next message thanks for thinking of helping me.

Ray (dazed, but still trying)
