xp and office updates

I have the automatic updates from windows but does that means they updates
my office programs too?

oops. Hang on. I seem to remember reading recently on the MS Office site
that the option to have Office automatically updated along with XP was
exactly that ... an option. It can be elected or not. I undertook to try to
find that verbage again but could not.
 
Maybe. Have you installed Microsoft Update? To check click Start and see
if it is in the list of programs shown. You should also see Windows Update.
If you only see Windows update you are not installing updates for Office.
To install Microsoft Update, start Windows Update manually, maximize the
screen and on the right side of the screen will be link to update to
Microsoft Update.

You are correct; it's on the first update page, on the right
side.
