XP and log file for Problems ??

Is there a log file which could tell me the last thing that happened.

If I leave my fully up to date Windows (inc SP2) for any period of time on
my Notebook - it hangs and I have to reboot. I would like to know what the
last action was that caused the hang - so I can handle the problem.

Any ideas appreciated

In any Laptop, this will most likely be the Hibernation
feature. The computer "goes to sleep" after a set amount of
time, in order to conserve battery power. You need to become
experienced/familiar with recovery from hibernation
