Hello,
I recently accuired a computer (for free) that has XP
Professional. The XP Pro needs to be re-installed due to
an unrecoverable error (did I mention I got the computer
for free?). I did try to do the system restore but could
not get any good dates to restore to. I want to install
XP Home ed. because I have a disk for that from a
different computer. Are there any special steps that I
need to do to install the XP Home or can I go to
add/remove programs and remove the XP Pro then install
the Home?
Thanks,
Terri

The only way to install Windows XP Home Edition on a computer
with XP Pro installed is to reformat the hard drive and install it "clean".
If your copy of XP Home is currently installed on another computer,
, then you'll also need to purchase a new license or
Product Key for the second installation.
