XML string to ADODB.Recordset?

I have a function that returns an XML string that represents a Recordset. Is
it possible to use this string to populate an ADODB.Recordset and, if so,
how?

Here's a link to a previous discussion on the subject in the Google
archives. Toward the end of that discussion, there's also a link to a
related KB article. The code in the newsgroup discussion is in C#, but the
KB article uses VB.NET.
