XL producing bizarre page layouts

I've been working on a 12-page worksheet for several days with Excel
2003, running XP, SP1.

This morning, when I attempted to print it, the 12 pages printed out as
three pages, with the pages printijng landscape orientation, but in
tiny size down the left margin. I saw that Page Setup was set to "Fit
to: 1 to 1," but the "Adjust to:" setting above--while unchecked--was
set to 10%, so I tried to set it to 100%.

I also experience the page allowing only the page width, about 7.5
inches, though it is printing in landscape. In other words, a wide
column that previously had fit on the page. I have margins set to .5
inches all around.

Anyone have any idea what is causing this, and what the solution is?

What happens in Page Break View, Kev? Also, have you tried completely
clearing your print area, and starting over with page setup?

I've had success with selecting what I consider the active area of the
worksheet, copying and pasting it to another worksheet, and then
deleting the original worksheet.

orientation, >>> but in tiny size down the left margin. I saw that
Page Setup was >>> set to "Fit to: 1 to 1," but the "Adjust to:"
setting above--while >>> unchecked--was set to 10%, so I tried to set
it to 100%.

I cleared columns/rows outside my printing area, cleared and redefined
my print area, made sure Portrait was turned on.

In Page Setup, I tried turning on "Adjust to:" and changed it from 10%
to 100%. Print preview does not show the squashed thumbnails running
down the left-hand side of the screeen, but it seems to allow only
Portraint width, cutting off the last, right-most column.
Page Break View displays, showing the last column broken onto a
separate page. No matter how I narrow the rightmost column, I can't gt
it to fit on the same page with the other columns.

Trying another tack, I turned off "Adjust to," turned on "Fit to:" and
set it to 1 page wide. Print preview now shows everything in squashed
thumbnails.
Page break view shows all my columns, but fitted onto one page, so
apparently it's showing me the "thumbnail" view.

Thanks, Bill. That seems to have worked. I wish I knew what had made
Excel lose its mind on this, though.
