Tray Command Line 4.61 has been great for me. I just hit the Scroll Key
button and up pops a little window. I type in an alias to start a program -
and TCL uses autocomplete, so often I just have to type in two letters - and
the program is started. Will also start anything that you can start from
the Run dialog, even if you haven't defined an alias - including URLs. It
is very easy to add new aliases. Just type in the alias, then browse to the
executable you want to start with that alias. Voila.
Using TCL is so much easier than navigating that @#$% Programs Menu, or
searching for the right icon on the desktop or a toolbar. I would be really
frustrated without it.
Problem: it seems that later updates to TCL are shareware.
Question: do you have a program that does the same thing as TCL, perhaps
even better, that is still freeware?
