What can I do if the product key# sticker is not valid on
my computer to use? I can't set up my Microsoft Office
2003 w/o the correct product key #.

That is the Product Key for Windows.
The Product Key for Office is on the package the Office CDs are kept.

The Product Key affixed to the exterior of the computer is that of
the operating system, not Microsoft Office. The Product Key for
Office will be on the packaging of the Office installation CD.

Try the app called RockXp.

RockXP will recover the Product Key of a product that's not yet
installed? How's it do that, magic?

I goofed but Isn't there a utility that will inspect the CD and locate it's
product key for those who have lost the orig. paperwork?

The product key is not on the CD.
A code is on the CD that only accepts product keys that match certain
criteria.
Actually there are several hundred keys that will work with any give CD, you
just have to know the right ones.

The Product Key is not on the CD, so no, there is no way to get the
key from the CD.

The Product Key is not stored on the installation CD in any way,
shape, or form. That would be rather like locking a room, but leaving
the key in the lock: doing so renders the lock completely useless.
