"Wrong" lsass.exe preinstalled by eMachines?

I've got an eMachines M6807 which was recently purchased in
the US from Circuit City. As such, I expect it to have a US
version of XP Home preinstalled. However, the file
\windows\system32\lsass.exe has a description which says
"LSA Shell (Export Version)". Huh? Export version???

The exact same file is in dllcache. Also, this system comes
with XP Home's setup files in a \windows\i386 directory
with SP1 pre-applied, so I expanded lsass.ex_ from there
into a temporary directory, and it is the same file,
complete with "Export Version" in its description.

I have checked the same file on the almost identical
eMachines M6805, and it too says Export Version.

eMachines' support have been less than helpful, and
eventually told me to contact Microsoft.

I want to know whether eMachines are pre-installing the
wrong version of XP Home on these machines. And how can I
tell for sure what *is* installed?

I checked my version of the file on a W2k pro machine and
it also has Export version written there. I think it just
says that on all installs regardless. I wouldn't worry
about it. The file in dllcache is the same file, which is
used in case the original is somehow deleted, it will be
automatically restored from dllcache.
 
Interesting. I've looked at some other machines (including
an XP Pro) which don't say this. I wonder if it is just
pre-installs which say it, and installs using Microsoft CDs
(upgrades or full) don't.
