Hi!
I'm installing XP Pro on a Compaq 8844SE with a 250GB
Ultra-DMA Hard drive, XP reports only 131GB unpartitioned
space available to create partition in.

How do I get XP intallation program to recognize the drive
I'm using?

Sounds like you either need to apply SP1, or you need to flash your bios.

Yes, I found out that the problem were the 48-bit LBA
support that is missing, How do I apply SP1 before an
installation?
