I have not written VBA behind excel spreadsheets before. What I need to do at
my new job is to write an application where users can enter data into
'screens'. The data that is entered will end up in excel spreadhseets. Once
the data is entered into the excel spreadsheets, I will then export the data
to vartious sql server 2005 databases for processing.
This application is not suppose to be a web aplication. The application is
suppose to be like an 'exe' that someone can click on and then execute.
I am wondering how to accomplish this task and what security issues would
I need to be aware of.

Thanks!

hi
this is xl newsgroups. users helping users. we help out with tricky lines of
code, tricky formulas and maybe point our feathures that newer users didn't
know about.
What you are talking about is a full blown project. we don't get money for
what we do. but apparently you do. my advice is to consult professional in
your area for further assistence expecially since you used the terms ".exe"

If you really want an application to be like an executable, then excel isn't the
program for you.

On the other hand, you could use some built-in features of excel that may work
ok.

In xl2003 and below, you can use Data|Form.
(try it on some test data)

And if that isn't enough, John Walkenbach has an enhanced data form:

And the source code is available for a small fee ($20 USA, IIRC).

And if that's not sufficient, then maybe you could design your own input
userform.
