When I save an Excel file to a CD-RW the file by default is saved as "Read
Only" is there a way to save to a CD without the files being saved as Read
Only?

Also, When I try to erase a CD-RW it says I can't because the files are
listed as Read Only. How do I erase it? (BTW: This only happens once in a
while, but often enough to be a problem!)

Thanks for Any Help!

All files copied to a CD are "Read Only". You need to copy the
file back to your hard drive in order to open the file.

Copy the file from your CD back to your hard drive, make any necessary
changes to the file, then copy the file back to the CD.

To erase all files from a CD:

1. Open My Computer.
2. Double-click the CD recording drive. Windows displays the files and folders located on the CD.
3. Under CD Writing Tasks, click Erase this CD-RW. Windows displays the CD Writing Wizard.
4. Follow the instructions in the wizard to delete the files on the CD-RW.
