Is it possible to write text files to a cd with my windows xp pro and make
them viewable on a windows 95 laptop? If not I guess I am buying mom a new
laptop for christmas instead of a hdtv.
thanks,
Jim
P.S. (she'll probably get both)

Write your text file and save to cd disk. Put in the laptop and open it. It
will work fine.

It
will work fine.

But only if either the CD has been finalized, OR the W95 machine has the
same CD writing software on, which is unlikely....

Thanks Shaun
OK, Tried that, and get the message that 'd' is not accessible.
I can use the cd's she has for games as the laptop does see them. I can
place the cd in a different xp pro machine and that works fine. Any ideas?

Guess I should have looked before I replied. Will look into how to finalize
and see if that works.

Just upload the file or e-mail the file.
