Would this work? How?

Alright, I'm trying to solve the problem of Outlook's
inability to easily use ONE profile between TWO computers
on a WORKGROUP-style network. My theory is perhaps I
could share the folder holding the .pst files on the main
(desktop) computer over the network and allow the
secondary (laptop) compture to access them. I would then
hope to set up some sort of offline folder for when the
laptop is not connected to the network. Is any of this
possible? If so how would the specific settings be
changed? Please help

The only problem with this would be if you are using a .pst file that both
PCs connect to is that when 1 pc has it open I don't think ( I am 98% sure)
the other PC will be able to open it. It will say file in use or something
when you try. But if you can make sure this doesn't happen. I think it could
work.

HOW TO: (I think) :)

Setup a folder and share it with whom ever needs acces to it and place the
..pst file in there. Connect the Desktop to that .pst file in that folder and
everything should be fine there. On the laptop you can create a OST file
that will take a snap shot lets say of the mailbox or .pst (I think it will
work with a .pst file) and when your not connected to the network it will
look in outlook as if you were but your working offline. When you connect
back to the network it should sync back up with the mailbox or .pst files.
Like I said I am not sure it will work with a .pst file but its worth a
shot.

I hope this helps

thanks
