Spammers tend to generate nicknames that are commonplace. Consequently when
I get a message from, let's say Jason, I'm not sure if it is spam or not
since I do know a Jason but I've never received e-mail from him before.

If I could see the message headers I could pretty well figure out whether
the message was real or spam. Right now I have to open it which might
present a problem if it has attachments but, even if not, does let a
potential spammer know that I opened it.

It would be very valuable if you could add an option to the context menu for
a message such that the headers could be displayed in a pop-up box. Even
better would be an option to display the headers in a preview pane.

Thanks.

Right-click on the message, and choose options.

Would that it were that simple!

I currently have two messages in my junk folder. For one of them, which is
not spam, there is no icon in the "header status" column (for which, by the
way, I could find no info. via Outlook 2003 help). When I right-click that
message I get the following context menu:
Open,
Print,
Reply,
Reply to all,
Forward,
View attachments,
Mark as read,
Find all,
Junk e-mail,
Delete,
Move to folder,
Options.

For the other, which is spam, there is an icon in the Header Status column
and the context menu that I get contains the following options:
Open,
Mark as read,
Junk e-mail,
Delete,
Mark to download messages,
Move to folder.

It is not clear to me why there is a difference between the messages and,
given that I have no "Options" option in the context menu, how do I view the
message header for the spam?

Thanks.
