Outlook 2002 is acting very picular and I believe it is a
worm. I have received several emails stating I was
sending emails with this worm. These messages have files
attached, which I have not opened, but Outlook 2002 is
acting like it has a worm or virus. I have all the
Microsoft updates and am running Norton Internet Security
2004 and System Works 2004. What am i missing and I need
help fixing this.

The messages you're getting are probably viruses in themselves, being
sneaky. I think this is Netsky. Delete the messages - is Norton scanning
your mail?
How is Outlook acting like it has a worm or virus?

Norton is scanning both incoming and outgoing email. The
screen display is changing everytime I bring Outlook up.
The will try and find all the messages I have received
telling me I have been sending emails with the somefool.I
worm. Some times I have trouble sending emails with
outlook telling me there is an STMP error. This all
started about a week ago and Norton is not helping.
HELP!!!

I did a little research on Netsky and do not have a .pif
file attached to the VIRUS ALERT, nor do I have
(e-mail address removed) in my address book. The
following is the text of the message I received.

Ah. This is an NDR (non-delivery response or "bounce"). Some has you in
their address book and their PC is infected. Many worms alter the sender
field of the message, using the addresses it finds in the address book to
masquerade as different senders. For some messages, your address was
chosen, so that the intended recipient's mail router sees you as the sender.
The recipient's email system saw the virus and (stupidly) sends back a
message to what it sees as the sender: you. Your machine didn't send the
original message, someone else's did.

Are you saying I do NOT have a worm or virus? Norton says
I am clean, but outlook is acting screwy
