GEORGE YOUNGER

I use Windows XP for home. I was infected with a worm
last week.It disabled my Norton Anti Virus. System would
hang and had to be turned off manualy. Could not close
opened jobs. I cannot list all the problems I had! This
has cost me two days work.

I finally loaded Windows Xp on a new drive and made my
old drive a slave. How can I transfer files from old
drive to new one. I tried dragging them using Explorer
but the new file on my new disk would not execute. I need
to move Qbooks and Quicken to the new drive with data. Is
there away to do this without having to reinstall all of
my software?

Thanks,

George

Basically no. While some executables run without 'installation' many
software suites need to be properly installed to run right. Since your new
setup is a new install of Windows and is essentially 'from scratch' you will
have to re-install your software.
