Does anyone know if there is a way to have a worksheet within a
worksheet? I need to reference an extensive list of account numbers
within a worksheet and I don't want the account numbers running all the
way down the sheet.

Can you just use a second worksheet (Insert/Worksheet... if necessary)
and refer to that sheet?

What are you trying to do with the list?

Hi Michael,
You can view more than one worksheet at a time.

You can create a new sheet that snakes the column to the next
column to use less paper -- it's just for display or printing, not
very practical use for doing work.

If you are trying to look up values and paste them into the main http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/validation.htm
part of your worksheet from a table there is
VLOOKUP Worksheet Function

and not really knowing what you are attempting to do, another
possibility is Validation of data entry

I am trying to let users reference a list of account numbers on a
summary page with 15-20 rows and 5-6 columns of information. To the
right of this infomation I have a list of account numbers, account
name, account type, ect (4-5 columns with 500-600 rows) of info that I
need to be able to reference, sort, filter, perform basic editing. What
I am trying to avoid is:
1. The user having to leave the 'Summary' worksheet to reference the
500-600 rows of account info
2. Having a list of 500-600 rows of info running all of the way down
the 'Summary' worksheet

Ideally I would like to have a seperate scrollable "workspace" within
the 'Summary' worksheet for users to reference. I know I can do a drop
down from the forms menu but I can't perform calculations,
manipulations, ect. Thanks and sorry for the confusion.

Are you trying to simulate frames used in HTML or are you trying
to ask the user to scroll through a drop down with 600 items.

Hi Michael,
Not available in Excel maybe in the year 2020.

Perhaps with things going to XML you won't be able to distinguish
HTML and Excel in the future but you can't do that in Excel.
