Worksheet blank after saving changes

While working on an Excel 2002 worksheet, Excel disappeared off the screen
and the save changes dialoge box appeared. I saved changes but now the
worksheet is blank except for one cell. The size of the worksheet is the
same as before (66K)but I can find no contents. Using find only finds
contents in the one cell I can already see

Changing text color, font, font size, for entire sheet had no results
Used a corrulted excell file recovery tool, no luck
Copied file to a different computer, no luck
copying the sheet to a new workbook results in a file of the same size as
the problem one but still nothing can be seen

Any suggestions of how I can get my data back? And, what may have happened?

Maybe you hid the worksheet
Open the file
Format|sheet|unhide

Maybe you selected that range and hit the delete key by mistake (to clear the
cells).

If you hit ctrl-end, do you go way past that one cell?

That lastused cell could be the reason the workbook is 66k when you save it.
 
clear | all on hte entire sheet, the size drops to 14K

Any ohter ideas?No sheets are hidden. I deleted the one visable cell in a
copy of the file but the size did not change, implying there is 66K of data
in the sheet somewhere. I also deleted sheet 2 and 3 with only a 4 k drop in
size, so the date was not move to those sheets in error. If I use edit|
clear| all on the sheet, the size drops to 14K so something is there :-)

Any other ideas?
 
Try using some of the techniques at Debra Dalgleish's site to reset the lastused
cell.

If you hit ctrl-end and it takes you far to the bottom right corner, then those
(still considered) used by excel, but are empty will increase the size of the
workbook.

And how about to double check to see if the data is still there (I have my
doubts!):

File|Print area|clear print area
then
file|print preview

Excel will try to print anything it can find.
