I recently upgraded to Windows XP and now purchased Works Suite 2004 to add to my computer. When I try to install, my computer won't recognize the disc or Drive D. When I followed the instructions that came with the disc, i.e. "Start" "Run and d:\setup.exe it says file doesn't exist. I REALLY need this to work, please help me!!!

This group is for issues with Windows XP (strictly speaking the Help and
Support feature thereof), not with software you have installed - or are
attempting to install - thereunder. For assistance with Works, please repost
in the Works group - microsoft.public.works.win - though it sounds to me as
though you have a duff disc; suggest you take it back to the store and have
them try it. If it works (no pun intended!) for them then it may very well
be your drive - does it read other discs OK?

When you open "my computer" does the CD show? Does it show as drive D?
Can you open any other CD in that drive?
You need to give us more information.

Cerridwen: Thanks for the prompt reply and the advice. Yes, my D drive works for everything else and I use it constantly for loading information and photos onto my business website. I will re-direct my query to the source you suggested. Thanks again

Richard: Thank you for the kind reply. Yes, my D drive works fine with everything else. When I go to "My Computer" it does appear but won't initiate setup procedure. Before I tried this project, I did get ONE message that there might be a problem with a device driver for another program I downloaded-I removed that program and haven't gotten the message again, however, I suspect I may have to resolve the "driver" issue before I can solve this one. Thanks again for your reply
