Hi

Am I right in observing that Excel 2007 DOES NOT support Works spreadsheets?
I can't seem to read any *.wks files with Excel 2007 and I can't import them
either. Is there some reason for this...is there something i need to install?
or is this another microsoft feature?

Yes, you are.

This is perfectly rational on Microsoft's part. If Works could
generate spreadsheets Excel could easily read, would SENSIBLE
companies and other organizations buy Office or Works for employees
who mainly perform data entry?

Thank you ! You have explained in a few simple words one of the great
"mysteries of life" .. well ... to me anyway :)

My previous question had always been "why wouldn't MS let works and XL talk
to each other in a friendly way ?".

You have pointed out the bleeding obvious .... my question should have been,
"why would they ?" :) :)

Thanks again.
