Working with Outlook when disconnected from Exchange

I've got Exchange Server 5.5 and Outlook 2000. I recently bought a laptop
and I'm wondering how I can take a 'copy' of my Outlook data (e.g. contacts,
notes, e-mail) with me on the road for viewing/editing when I'm not
connected to a network (i.e. when I'm on a plane).

I would like to be able to work 'offline' with Outlook and then have
everything sync back up when I reconnect to my company's network. Since all
of my data is on the Exchange server, I'm not sure how this would be done.

If this is too difficult, having a copy of my data so I can atleast review
it would be ok. I was thinking that I could just export my data to a pst
file and then import that later when I'm offline for viewing.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tim Rogers

Use an offline file. Under your account properties, on the
advanced tab, select the option to create an offline
file. Synch it to your exchange mailbox and mark the
folders you want to synch for offline use. Once complete,
disconnect from the network and ensure that you have a
local .ost file with your items properly synched.

Once you are on the road and you work in Outlook, all of
your items will be resynched once you reconnect to your
exchange server.
