Hi
My older son is not aloud on my office computer. But I work at home, and he goes on it during the night, when I am sleeping. He has become, I don't know how, administrator on my office computer! I cancelled his access permit, but soon after, he created a new account for himself. I said: ''How come you know my pin?'' He said:''I don't know, but I don't need to know...''
Then, what can I do? Is there a mean for me to cancel definitely his access on my computer without having to place a key on the door
Thank you!!!

Open your BIOS and set a good, strong password.

Handcuffs work well if behind the back, this also reduces
late night snacking and binge drinking.

He is probably booting to safe mode, and opening the default
administrator account.

You can secure the computer by cleaning out his Trojans, P2P
server (which could allow remote access) and setting secure
passwords on the BIOS and the default administrator.

A lock on the door is never a bad idea. Neither is a strong
parent.

In addition to your user account with administrator privileges, there is a
hidden admin account which if you don't set a password during XP setup, can
be accessed by leaving the password blank and pressing enter. As Jim
Macklin has pointed out in his post in this thread, if you boot to safe
mode, the hidden Administrator account is listed and if no password was set
for the hidden account, a user could access it by simply leaving the
password blank. That would give your son the ability to do what he has
done.

You can boot to Safe Mode and set a password for the hidden account as
follows. Boot the System, start tapping F8, when the menu appears, select
Safe Mode and press enter. At the Safe Mode log in screen, select
Administrator as opposed to your user account name, leave the password blank
and press enter.

Decline the option to go to System Restore. At the Safe Mode desktop, open
Control Panel, open User Accounts, open the Administrator account, the
account named "Administrator," click Create a password and then create a
password for the account, make sure it is different from the password for
your user account. Also, in the left pane, you will see an option to
prevent lost or forgotten passwords, select it and create a password reset
disk. This is very important because if things go wrong that you cannot fix
in your own administrator account or your account becomes corrupted, you
will need to access this account and the password reset disk will prevent
you from losing that password. If you don't and you happen to forget that
password, your only alternative will be to format, losing everything and
start over.

If your son still manages to get around this, he's not being straight with
you about not knowing your password or in this case passwords.

You could install a keylogger to see what he gets up to ;-)

Good luck with your son.

| Thank you very much all of you for your good advises. Sure
that I would kiss you. My son is not so bad, by the way, but
I think sincerely that he is almost sick... with computer!
