I want to set up a workgroup. Is there any restriction on the number of pc in
workgroup? How many pc can be as a part of it?
 
No. Only for P2P there is a theoretical limit of 5 for home versions
but it does not matter as they are not all likely to use/share the same
resources at the same time.

There is no real limit on the number of computers in a workgroup. There is a
limit on the number of computers that can concurrently connect to any one
computer, but that is not a workgroup size limit.

If you have Windows XP Home, a maximum of 5 different computers can concurrently
access shared data on that computer. With Windows XP Pro, the limit is 10. To
get any more, you need a server operating system, like Server 2000 or Server

But that does not limit the size of a workgroup. You can have hundreds of
computers in a workgroup (I wouldn't, and see this article for further
