You may see from previous posts that I am trying to enable my users to access templates that are stored on my file server. I originally changed their User templates file location to point to this, but soon realised that it meant they were all sharing one Normal.dot, which cause problems. It has been suggested that I change the Workgroup Templates path instead, but i have tested this on my own pc, but when i click File, New, I don't see those templates in the right hand pane. Apologies for my ignorance, but can anyone tell me how to get to the workgroup templates from the File, New, command?
thanks

Hi Michelle

Any templates in the workgroup folder itself should appear in the General
tab - mixed in with the user templates ones (which take precedence if there
are two with the same name).

Any folders you have within the workgroup folder will show up as tabs
provided they contain some templates.

There seems to be a problem here. I can't get the Workgroup folder to work
in Word 2003 either :(
I'll investigate further and let you know if I come up with anything.

Hi Margaret, thanks for this. I realised 5 minutes ago that there had to actually be a template in the folder for the tab to show up. silly me! All is working now anyway.

Forget that - It was pilot error. I think the heat here must be getting to
me :(
For folders to appear as tabs they must be sub folders of the Workgroup
folder - I had overlooked that, despite having written a web page about it
:(
